Charlena Wynn is a Black, nonbinary visual artist, art educator, and art historian with familial roots in Chowanoke (Bertie, NC) and Occaneechi Terriorities (Reidsville, NC). Currently, they serve as Associate Director of Education at BAYCAT with over a decade of experience working with PK-16 students and their families and adult learners in San Francisco and Oakland, CA, Richmond, VA, Charlotte, NC, and Washington, DC. They are passionate about creating accessible and inclusive pathways into art and art spaces, as well as supporting sustainable art careers for fellow Black and Indigenous artists.

Emerging Arts Professionals/SFBA is a network focused on empowerment, leadership, and growth of next generation arts and culture workers in the San Francisco Bay Area through knowledge sharing, learning opportunities, and partnerships. By supporting today’s emerging models and mindsets, we hope to generate a path for individuals’ meaningful and sustainable work and to stimulate a vibrant, integrated, and evolving arts and culture sector.
