The Artists’ Adaptability Circles (AAC) partners are pleased to announce the launch of our third round of the program! With this launch, however, is the bittersweet news that Diamond Wave will be transitioning away from the program to focus on their own key programming. With the support of founding partners, Emerging Arts Professionals (EAP) has been blessed to have co-developed and facilitated AAC with Diamond Wave since its inception, and all of the partners are in support of Diamond Wave as they recommit to their mission-driven programs.
“Responding to the needs of individual artists, arts workers and culture bearers amidst the COVID pandemic, Diamond Wave was grateful to support the development of the Artists’ Adaptability Circles (AAC) collaborative since its inception in 2020.
As an organization focused primarily on producing creative events and offering artist-led consulting, Diamond Wave is now sunsetting its participation in AAC to focus on the presentation of THEYFRIEND nonbinary performance events, building out our consulting services, and overall organizational sustainability.
We are thrilled to see AAC continuing with robust local and national support under the guidance of Emerging Arts Professionals (EAP), and cannot wait to see how AAC continues to evolve to support sustainability amongst the engines of our creative ecosystems – artists, arts workers, and culture bearers” –– Vin Seaman, Diamond Wave Director
EAP has a 15-year history of curriculum and cohort development, much of which went into the design of the AAC program, and as of January 1st, EAP has taken on the primary administrative role. In the coming weeks will be announcing a call for applications for AAC Admin position and doing outreach to bring in new partners for artist mentorship and program facilitation. The AAC structure was built in a way that anticipated partner transitions over time, and we are confident that this will be a smooth transition for our artists and communities. We will miss Diamond Wave and hope they feel both proud of the opportunities they have fostered, and assured that AAC will continue the groundbreaking work we had set out to do together.
