Ariana Allensworth

Graduate Student, UC Berkeley’s School of Social Welfare

Ariana Allensworth is a San Francisco-raised media maker, social worker, and youth advocate entering her second year of graduate school at UC Berkeley’s School of Social Welfare. Her politics, activism, and research are centered on leveraging art and culture as tools to promote healing and build community power. Prior to attending graduate school, she worked for five years in New York City public schools at New Design High School and Urban Arts Partnership, developing strengths-based youth development programs for chronically absent high school students. This fall she will be joining Youth Speaks’ Brave New Voices Initiative as a Social Work Intern. She is passionate about developing and leading programming, advocacy, and policy efforts that center client voice, creative expression, and racial equity.
