With over 15 years of experience advocating for social justice, Shirley Huey brings insight from working at public, private, philanthropic, legal, and grassroots entities. She has consulted with government and nonprofit clients on research, strategic planning, program evaluation, board development, meeting/retreat facilitation, and grant writing projects. Shirley has worked on public health issues affecting low income and immigrant communities, including mental health, criminal justice/reentry, youth development, and community economic development. She also writes about food, culture, and life in the Bay.

A native San Franciscan who speaks conversational Cantonese (Chinese) and Spanish, Shirley holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law and a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in English.
