Vanessa Chang

Lecturer, Curator, and Writer

As a writer, scholar, educator and curator, Vanessa Chang builds communities and conversations about art, technology, and human bodies. She is a lecturer in Visual & Critical Studies at California College of the Arts. She holds a Ph.D. in Modern Thought and Literature from Stanford University, where she also organized an event series dedicated to comics and graphic narratives. As curator with CODAME ART + TECH, she organizes events and exhibitions at the emerging intersections of art, science, and technology. She is currently a Curatorial Resident at SOMArts Cultural Center. She has published articles in Wired, Slate, Los Angeles Review of Books, Animation: an interdisciplinary journal, Journal of Visual Culture, and Popular Music.
